International Service and Learning Program- Ghana
June 22 - July 3
TWST4Girls would like to extend our humanitarian work to the nation of Ghana with our International Service and Learning Program. The focus of this program is to introduce the girls to their Ancestral home and culture, build a sense of wholeness, and to unleash the possibilities when we connect our youth to the youth of Africa.
The program consists of the following:
Historical tours and learning experiences-Elmina and Cape Coast Slave Dungeons, Kakum National Park, Kwame Nkrumah Monument, W.E.B. Du Bois Museum
International School Supply Program (ISS) – TWST4Girls has adopted, Nana Nketsia Primary and Junior High Schools to provide supplies and educational support to these economically disadvantaged schools.
Rites of Passage– Traditional coming of age ritual that will develop leadership skills, build confidence, instill community service values and connect the girls with African tradition.
Cultural Heritage African Tours-Led by its CEO, Professor James Small will be conducting our tour to Ghana.
TWST4Girls’ program will take place, June 22, 2019, through July 3rd, 2019. We are currently seeking monetary and in-kind contributions for our 2019 International Service and Learning Program. Our goal is to raise $200,000 for supplies, travel and tour costs for our 40 participants.
It is our hope as a collective, that TWST4Girls will add each of you who read this to the list of philanthropists, donors, and sponsors who help us uncover the potential that lies within all of our youth and provide economic relief to children internationally. Your tax-deductible donation will have a dramatic impact on the lives of children in Houston, Ghana and beyond.
